A 12-year-old girl was raped allegedly by a man in Sarja village under Ramgarh police station of Palamau district, police today said.
The incident occurred when the girl was returning home after visiting her married elder sister's house last evening.
The man allegedly took her forcibly to a maize field and raped her. She fell unconscious following the incident.
When she regained her sense, she reached home and narrated the incident to her family members, who lodged a complaint with the police.
The accused was arrested today.
