13 stranded in flash flood rescued in MP

Thirteen persons stranded on a hillock due to flooding of a rivulet in Budhni tehsil of the district, were rescued after a nearly ten-hour-long operation, a senior police official said today.

"Thirteen people were trapped on a hillock after sudden flooding of Satkunda rivulet yesterday, following which a rescue operation was launched by a team of local and Hoshangabad authorities and also by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)," Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) A P Singh said.

The official also said that a local youth showed exemplary courage in saving the stranded people and would be rewarded for it.
