145th birth anniversary of Aurobindo celebrated

The 145th birth anniversary of spiritual leader Aurobindo was celebrated here today, with people from various parts of the countrypaying homage at his memorial here.

Devotees performed meditation before the memorials of Aurobindo and his spiritual mentor "The Mother" at Aurobindo Ashram, established in 1926 by the revolutionary turned philosopher.

The devotees were also let into the room where Aurobindohad carried out his spiritual experiments.

Aurobindo promoted integral yoga and established the Ashram in 1926.

He breathed his last on December 5, 1950.
