15 kg cannabis seized

The Mizoram Excise and Narcotics

department officials today seized 15.3 kilos of Ganja (Cannabis) from Vaivakawn area in Aizawl and arrested one person in this connection.

A department spokesperson said that the contraband was concealed in a suitcase and a steel trunk.

Vanbiakhleni (40) a resident of Vaivakawn, arrested for alleged possession of the contraband was booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

She was remanded to judicial custody.
