The Vasundhara Raje government has shut down 15 units of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) which were running into continuous losses, the state's Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore said today.

During the Question Hour in the state Assembly, Rathore said the RTDC had run into losses to the tune of Rs 154 crore since 2013-14.

In November last year, the state government decided to shut down 15 units of the corporation which were running into losses.

Rathore said that 363 employees in surplus after closing down of the units will not be removed and will be accommodated in other departments.

The RTDC hotel in Fatehpur of Sikar district was closed for being a loss making unit. The hotel incurred a loss of Rs 6.67 lakh in 2007-08, which increased to Rs 18 lakh in 2015-16, Rathore said.
