The first meeting of the National Medical and Wellness Tourism Board is slated to be held here tomorrow during which a wide range of issues concerning the medical tourism sector is expected to come up for discussion.
The government had last year announced the setting up of a 20-member board with personalities like yoga guru Ramdev, renowned cardiologists Dr Naresh Trehan, Dr Devi Prasad Shetty and Dr KK Aggarwal as part of the panel.
"Tomorrow, the National Medical and Wellness Tourism Board will have its first meeting here. The meeting will discuss several issues related to medical tourism," said a tourism ministry source.

The board has been mandated with the task of devising strategies to increase the flow of foreign tourists to India for various treatments which are available at a much lower cost in the country.
The board consists of members representing related government departments, tourism and hospitality sector and experts in the medical, wellness and yoga fields.
