23-yr-old raped in UP

A 23-year-old girl was

allegedly raped by a youth when she was alone in her house here, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday in New Mandi Police Station area, SHO Arun Kumar said, adding, Ajay Kumar barged into the girl's house and raped her when she was alone.

Ajay also threatened the girl with dire consequences if she narrates the incident to anyone, Kumar said.

The crime came to light when the the girl lodged an FIR against the youth.

The girl has been sent for medical examination, the SHO said.

The youth is absconding and the police have started the search for him and also raided his house, he added.
