25th Lal Bahadur Shastri hockey tourney from Dec 15

The silver jubilee Lal Bahadur Shastri hockey tournament will take place from December 15 to 21 at the Shivaji stadium here.

The tournament committee has also decided to introduce U-16 girls' hockey competition for the Delhi NCR schools, which will be held from December 12 to 15.

The 25th edition of the men's tournament will see eight teams -- defending champions BPCL, last year's runners-up CRPF, Air India, ONGC, Indian Oil, PNB, Mandhari XI and Eastern Railways -- participating in the competition.

A committee consisting of eminent hockey experts will select the best player of each match. A fairplay trophy instituted by the State Bank of India will be awarded to a team. Bank of Baroda will present the best player's trophy of the tournament.
