3 Delhi pilgrims killed, five injured in road mishap

Three pilgrims from Delhi were killed while five others were injured when their car rammed into a road divider near a toll plaza on Yamuna Expressway in Mat area of the district this afternoon.

According to the police, the youths were going back to Delhi in an SUV after visiting Taj Mahal and paying obeisance at temples in Mathura on the occasion of Janmashtami yesterday.

While 24-year-old Sunny succumbed to injuries in a Mathura hospital, Praveen (25) and Chandan (22) died in Agra in a private hospital.

The five injured youth-- Rahul, Sonia, Pooja, Dhiraj and Rishi-- were admitted to hospitals in Mathura and Agra.
 

The deceased were working in a private company in Delhi and lived in Dallupura area, police said, adding that they belonged to Bihar.
