Three members of a gang involved in blackmailing people by threatening to level false rape charges against them were arrested here, police said today.
Imran, Salim and Tahir, all residents of Kota, were arrested late on Sunday night on the complaint of an alleged victim. They were produced in a local court yesterday which sent them in police remand till Thursday, Ram Kishan, circle in-charge of Dadabari Police Station said.
Efforts are on to nab five other members of the gang, including three women and the kingpin Salam, the police officer said.

On December 28, the victim lodged a police complaint saying a woman used to telephone him requesting for a job. She also persuaded him to meet her parents at their residence in Shivpura area of the city, police said.
When the man went to her residence, five to seven people, including two other women, who were present there, forcibly videographed him with the woman. They threatened to release the video clip on Internet and extorted Rs one lakh from him, the Circle Inspector said.
After they demanded more money, the victim lodged a police complaint, following which an investigation was initiated, the officer said.
During interrogation of the arrested accused, it was revealed the gang had been operating in Kota city. Some members of the gang were also arrested in 2015, Ram Kishan said.
