3 kidnapped persons rescued

Police today rescued three persons, who were kidnapped on Saturday, and arrested two abductors from Kehdi Mahua jungle under Maneka police station of adjoining Latehar district.

Sujit Mehta, Laddu Mehta and Kishore Mehta were abducted from Thamanwa jungle while they were going from Chandanpur of Chhattisgarh to Daltongunj in Palamau district in a four-wheeler, Superintendent of Police Mayur Patel said.

When the three did not reach their relatives place in Daltonjanj and their mobiles found to be switched off, the police were informed.

Following investigation, a police team went to Latehar and rescued them with the help of local police, Patel said.
 

The two arrested abductors were identified as Anil Pal and Pappu Kumar Paswan, he said adding the kidnappers confessed that they had wanted a Rs 15 lakh ransom.

A four-wheeler and one mobile phone was recovered from them.
