3 killed in road mishap in Raj

Three persons including two minor girls were killed and as many injured when a speeding jeep hit them in Roon village of Nagaur district, police said today.

The incident took place last night when the victims were returning home after working in a field and the jeep hit them.

Poonam (12) was killed on the spot while Madhi (65) and Anita (14) died this morning while undergoing treatment at a hospital, SHO Kuchera police station Goverdhan said.

The three injured identified as Suman (12), Rekha (25) and Meva (35) are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jodhpur, he said.

The accused driver fled from the spot.
 

A post-mortem examination will be carried out today, he said, adding, a case has been registered in this regard and search is on to nab the accused driver.
