Three alleged members of an inter-state gang of cattle smugglers were today arrested from Narot Jaimal Singh area near here, while one of their accomplice managed to escape, police said.
A truck bearing Jammu and Kashmir registration number was intercepted and was seized after it was found the vehicle was carrying six cows and five buffaloes, they said.
The bovines which were being taken to Jammu for slaughter have been recovered, police said.
The accused identified as Abdul Kareem, Ravneet Singh and Balwinder Kumar all hailing from Jammu have been arrested and investigation is underway, they said.
