3 mowed down by train

Three persons were killed after being hit by a train at a railway crossing on Jaitipur road here this afternoon, disrupting rail traffic for about two hours.

Taukeer Ahmed (42), who was riding a motorcycle and Mahipal (45) were hit by the speeding train while they were trying to cross the tracks, police said.

6-year-old Pankaj, who was standing nearby, was hit on head by some part of the motorcycle and later succumbed at a hospital, police said.

Rail traffic was hit on the track for about two hours.
