Unidentified militants today shot dead three persons, including an ultra, at a remote village in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district, police said.
A group of four to five men came in a car to the village and gunned the three down from point blank range.
The Nokma (tribal chief) informed the police that three bodies were found in Oragitok village at around 8 AM, Inspector General of Police G H P Raju told PTI.

One of the deceased was identified as Grendal T Sangma, a hardcore militant of the ANVC-B, a break-away faction of the A'chik National Volunteers Council, while the other two were yet to be identified, Raju said.
Sangma was absconding and wanted in connection with a murder case in East Garo Hills district.
The IGP did not rule out the incident to be a factional clash between the ANVC-B and the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) which have been involved in conflicts in the past over territory and other factional disputes.
It was suspected that Sangma had been accused of being an informer because of the counter insurgency operations in the area for the past two weeks.
