4 sleeping on roadside killed as gravel-laden truck overturns

Four members of a family were today killed and as many injured when a gravel-laden truck overturned on them while they were sleeping on roadside in Rampur area, police said here.

Piyari Devi (60), Aman (16), Riya (10) and Priya (8) were killed when the truck coming from Mirzapur overturned on them in Rampur Bazar area this morning, it said.

Police said that Anshu (18), Rohan (10), Priyanshu (8) and Shyam (20) were injured in the incident and were admitted to the district hospital, where condition of two of them was stated to be serious.

The truck driver escaped after the mishap.
