5 AIADMK workers injured in clash between rival factions

Five AIADMK workers were injured in a clash between rival factions of the party at Thevarkulam near Sankarankovil here today, police said.

The clash broke out over who should get into the campaign van of AIADMK candidate Vasanthi Murugesan. After a heated argument, blows were exchanged.

All the injured have been hospitalised, they said, adding two persons have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
