5 killed, 2 kids injured in road accident in Bhavnagar

Five persons, including three women, were killed and two children injured when an SUV collided with a truck in Gujarat's Bhavnagar district early this morning, police said.

"The accident took place on Bhavnagar-Dholera state highway when the SUV collided head-on with a truck," an official from Velavadar-Bhal police station said, adding the victims were on their way to Bhavnagar from Mumbai.

Five persons travelling in the SUV were died on the spot, he said, adding four of them were of the same family.

The two injured children, both below five years of age, were rushed to a hospital, police said.
