Gold worth over Rs 1 crore was seized from five people arrested in connection with last week's loot in the office of a financial services company in Alambagh area of the state capital.
Three people were arrested from Alambagh area yesterday and two others nabbed in Gosainganj area today, Principal secretary, Home, R M Srivastava and DGP Amrish Kumar Sharma said in a joint press conference.
Over two kg gold and ornaments worth crores of rupees have been recoverd from the possession of those arrested, they said, adding, hunt was still on for the arrest of four others including the main accused Ravindra Maurya.

About 10.7 kg of gold was robbed from the office of Muthoot finance company on February 21 by armed assailants, they said, adding, the accused had worked out a meticulous plan keeping a close watch on the activities in the office.
They said the main box of CCTV camera in the office, which was found broken after the incident, was also recovered from near Bijnore on the information of those arrested.
The DGP said it has been observed that in cases of loot in banking institutions, CCTV cameras are often found to be out of order and a letter will be sent to the Reserve Bank of India to direct banking institutions to keep them in order.
