A 5-year-old boy's run as mayor of a tiny US town came to an end after he lost his re-election to a third term and surprisingly it was not anti-incumbency but luck that ended his tenure.
Robert "Bobby" Tufts was elected as the Mayor of Dorset, Minnesota, in 2012 at the ripe old age of three. Last year, Tufts was re-elected as the mayor even before he had made it to pre-school.
Losing the mayor's chair was was not due to anything the now 5-year-old did or did not do, KARE-TV reported.

Eric Mueller, a 16-year-old from Mendota Heights, Minnesota, won this year when his name was drawn from the ballot box during the annual Taste of Dorset festival.
Dorset, about 150 miles northwest of Minneapolis, does not have a city government, so its population of between 22 to 28 people are allowed to vote for their mayor as many times as they like, at the low cost of just USD 1 a vote.
There are various ballot boxes around stores in town, and the money raised from the polling is then used to help organise a festival for the people of Dorset.
The votes are then put in a hat and a name is randomly picked to name the mayor. Bobby's name was written on a slip of paper, but so was the name of Dorset's new mayor Mueller.
The news of Tufts election loss was announced on his mother's Facebook page Sunday.
