50-yr-old female elephant dies of illness

: A fifty-year-old female elephant collapsed and died at Ennamangalam forest division in the district of old age related ailments.

Forest department officials acting on information that an elephant was struggling for life, rushed to the spot. Though the pachyderm was provided glucose and fruits, it did not eat it, suddenly collapsed and died, they said

A veterinary doctor who examined the elephant said it had died of old age and illness.

The carcass was buried in the same area this evening.
