500 boxes of illegal liquor seized

Police today claimed to have seized 500 boxes of illegal country-made liquor and arrested one person in this regard.

The accused was identified as Satti Kumar of Handiaya village, police said.

The accused, who was a liquor contractor last year, failed to get a contract this year and engaged in selling liquor illegally, police said.

A case has been registered under the Excise Act, Sanehdeep Sharma, SSP Barnala said.
