55-year-old woman commits suicide due to depression

A 55-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her home in a village near here, police said today.

The deceased Shindo, a resident of Chaheru village, took the extreme step yesterday due to depression, a police official said.

Chaheru police post incharge Balwinder Singh said the body was sent to Civil hospital Phagwara for post-mortem examination.

The victim was survived by her husband and three married sons, he said.
