One person has been arrested with seven kilogram of poppy straw on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the outskirts of the district, police said today.
Acting on tip off, police yesterday intercepted one Bharat Singh, moving suspiciously in Jhajjar Kotli area of Jammu district.
During checking, seven kilogram of poppy straw was recovered from his possession and he was arrested, they said.
A case under NDPS Act has been registered against him and further investigation is on, they added.
