7 years RI for robbing woman at knife point

A local court today sentenced a man to seven years rigorous imprisonment for robbing a woman of gold ornaments at knife point some six years ago.

The prosecution case was that in January 2010, 26-year-old Manoj had entered the house of a middle aged woman at Coonoor and robbed gold ornaments weighing 21 sovereigns after threatening her at knife-point.

Manoj was arrested in 2013 and the case was going on in Mahila Court.

Mahila court judge M Sarvamangala sentenced Manoj to seven years' RI for the crime.
