Nine bank officials, including the branch managers, of two co-operative banks in Shamli district have been suspended on charges of getting loans sanctioned by illegal means.
Babri Branch manager Himanshu Kumar, cashier Mukesh Kumar Shrivastav and peon Deepak Kumar were suspended yesterday for allegedly misappropriating Rs 2,25,28,039 cash against forged loans, a bank official said.
Lallu Kheri Branch manager, along with five other officials, were sacked on charges of fraud worth Rs 7 lakh rupees, the official added.
While cases against Himanshu and two other Babri branch staff were already registered on January 10.
