India will host the 9th annual meeting of International Regulatory Cooperation for Herbal Medicines (IRCH) from November 8 to 10.
Of the 34 member nations of IRCH which is supported by the World Health Organization (WHO), 19 have confirmed their attendance at the event to be held here.
IRCH is a global network of regulatory authorities responsible for regulation of herbal medicines, established in 2006. Its mission is to protect and promote public health and safety through improved regulation for herbal medicines.

The agenda of the meeting is to examine regulatory progress made by countries in the field of traditional medicines. One of the objectives is to harmonise drug regulation across countries in order to facilitate import and export of herbal medicines.
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Cuba, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, Italy, Oman, Malaysia, Mexico, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tanzania and Thailand are participating this year.
