Activist asks Guv to allow him prosecute CM for 'misuse of

Social activist V Shashidhar has sought the state Governor's sanction for prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for alleged nepotism and misuse of powerin the appointment of a legislator to a public office.

He said he has petitioned Governor Vajubhai Vala to permit him to initiate criminal proceedings under Prevention of Corruption Act and various IPC sections against Siddaramaiah for "illegally appointing Hoskote MLA NNagaraj to the post of Chairman of Bengaluru International Airport Area Planning Authority."

In the petition submitted to the governor on September nine, Shashidhar, President of 'Karnataka Police Maha Sangha', which is yet to be recognised, contended that Nagaraj was not a resident of alocation which does not fall under BIAAPA jurisdiction.
 

He told PTI that the Congress legislator was a resident of Garudacharpalya instead, and "hence it is a violation of government rules.
