Adampur coldest in Punjab at 5.5 deg Celsius

Adampur was the coldest place in Punjab today, recording a low of 5.5 degrees Celsius, as cold weather conditions prevailed in most parts of the state and neighbouring Haryana.

Amritsar, too, had a cold night recording a minimum temperature of 7.2 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana settled at 10 degrees Celsius, a Meteorological official said.

Halwara and Patiala recorded a low of 8 degrees Celsius and 9.9 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Pathankot recorded a low of 7.9 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded 10.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Biting cold swept Karnal and Narnaul in Haryana, with both places recording identical minimum temperatures of 6.5 degrees Celsius.
 

Hisar and Rohtak also recorded identical minimum temperatures of 7.3 degrees Celsius.
