Afzal Guru's execution should not be politicised: Narayanasamy

Minister of State in PMO V Narayanasamy today said that the issue of hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru should not be "politicised". "The execution was the part of legal process and there was no political motive involved so there should be no politics over the issue," Narayanasamy told reporters at PCC office here. When asked about Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's sympathetic chord towards the execution of Guru, he said that "Abdullah views are his personal and have nothing to do with his party's alliance with Congress". Narayanasamy expressed confidence that Congress would retain power and form the government after the general elections in 2014. The Union minister also sought support of the opposition for proper functioning of Parliament in ensuing budget session saying that several important bills including Lokpal Bill, Women Reservation, Insurance Regulatory bills would be passed during the session.
