AHRC declared a permanent body

The Assam Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has been declared a permanent body by the state government with effect from the date of its constitution.

A notification to this effect was issued by the state government on March 7, 2014, according to a release issued here today.

AHRC was constituted on March 19, 1996.
