Anurag announces 2nd leg of 'Khelega Yuva, Jeetega Himachal'

Press Trust of India  |  Shimla

MP from Hamirpur Anurag Thakur today announced the launch of the second leg of the 'Khelega Yuva, Jeetega Himachal' initiative to nurture budding talents in schools.

Thakur, the former president, recently hosted Himachal Pradesh's first ever state in Hamirpur to provide a platform to the athletes to showcase their talent and skills.

Under the 'Khelega Yuva, Jeetega Himachal' (youth will play, Himachal will win) initiative, seven sports will be promoted across schools with a strength of 300 plus students to identify talent, nurture them, channelise their energies in the right direction and insulate them from falling prey to menace like drugs.

"A provision of Rs 2 crore will be made for the development of sports infrastructure in schools, for any of the seven sports -- football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, kabaddi, boxing, badminton and kho-kho," he said.
