Career diplomat Anurag Bhushan has taken charge as the Consul General of India in Dubai and Northern Emirates in the UAE.
Bhushan, who was head of the Regional Passport Office in New Delhi till recently, took the charge yesterday.
He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1995.

As a career diplomat, his overseas assignments have included political, information and cultural work in Tokyo; economic, commercial, visa and administration responsibilities in Dhaka and as head of the political and administration wings in the Indian Embassy in Berlin.
Bhushan was also responsible for training of foreign diplomats as well as Indian Foreign service officers during his assignment at the Foreign Service Institute in New Delhi.
An alumnus of IIT, Kanpur, he grew up largely in Uttar Pradesh and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Executive Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
Bhushan is the 14th Consul General of India in Dubai since 1973. He has succeeded Sanjay Verma, who has been apponted as India's ambassador to Ethiopia.
