Andhra Pradesh government has spent Rs 40,000 crore in the last 22 months for various welfare and developmental works, state minister Sidda Raghavara Rao said today.
"The state government has spent Rs 40,000 crore for various welfare and developmental works in the last 22 months. Even though the government is reeling under severe deficit, it has implemented several welfare measures for benefit of the people," the Minister for Transport, Road and Building claimed.
He laid the foundation stone for a road-cum-rail flyover bridge at Bikkavolu village in East Godavari district, around 40 km from here.
Developmental works between Kakinada-Rajamahendravaram are stalled and a meeting will be held with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on May 8 in this regard, Rao said.
