Army sends 45 students of J-K on educational tour

Two separate batches of students were flagged off from Poonch and Aknoor yesterday as a part of 'Operation Sadbhavana', a defence spokesman said here today.

During the tour, the students will visit Delhi, Bikaner and Nagaur, he said adding, they will also be taken to industrial areas like Okhla, Maruti Udyog Plant at Gurgaon, and industrial belts in Bikaner and Nagaur.

In addition, students will also visit places of educational and historical importance, he said.

The tour aims at providing an opportunity to students of far-flung areas of Jammu and Kashmir to gain awareness about the cultural diversity, grandeur and economic development of the country, he said.

 

Meanwhile, a group of 25 elderly people, including some Maulvis, were flagged off on a 10-day tour by the Commanding Officer of Rashtriya Rifles Battalion from Kalakote area of Rajouri district yesterday.

The 10-day tour based on the theme 'Tajurba Aur Vishwas Desh Apke Sath' consist of 25 elderly persons and Maulvis of remote areas of Rajouri district and they would be visiting historical and tourist locations at Allahabad, Kanpur, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri and Delhi, the spokesman said.
