Army starts rescue operation to recover body of boy

The operation to recover the body of a six-year-old boy, who was killed and later dumped in Uppar Bari Doab Canal (UBDC), continued on fourth day with the services of Army roped in today.

After divers of Punjab Police and Border Security Force to trace the body of Krishna, the rescue operation has been handed over to the Army, officials said here.

A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) from Ludhiana also has been pressed into the service to rescue the body of Krishna who was kidnapped from this Batala on Thursday evening and dumped his body into the UBDC after killing him on the same night.
 

Earlier, a BSF team was also pressed into the service to rescue his body but failed.

Batala SSP Daljinderjit Singh Dhillon and Gurdaspur SSP Gurpreet Singh Toor jointly supervised the rescue operation.

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has started it operation with motor boats and searched a 10 Kilometer stretch of the UBDC.

All four accused of abducting and killing the boy has been arrested so far.

Sachin, Rahul Verma, Bikramjit Singh alias Heera, and Anil Kumar alias Sunil, brother of Sachin, were nabbed by police in the past two days.
