Apex body of apparel exporters AEPC today announced it has elected Ashok G Rajani as the new chairman of the counil.
He has been elected for two years, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) said in a statement.
Rajani is also the Chairman of Midas Touch Exports, manufacturer and exporter of readymade garments.

IIMB ranked 1 in Central Asia for 3 long-duration programmes * The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) today said it has been ranked No 1 in Central Asia for its three long-duration programmes in the Eduniversal 2015-16 Best Masters Ranking.
The programmes include the two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), the one-year Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy & Management (PGPPM) and the one-year fulltime residential Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP), IIMB said in a statement.
The Best Masters and MBA programmes in 30 fields of studies is the annual global ranking released by Eduniversal, the international ranking agency specialised in higher education, based in Paris, France, it said.

Operation restored at Olympic Cards TN factory * Wedding cards maker Olympic Cards today said operations at their manufacturing plant in Kannigaiper, Tiruvallur district, which was suspended due to heavy rains in December 2015, are back to normal.
"The company's factory at Kannigaiper, Tiruvallur district was affected very badly due to heavy rainfall and floods (that was witnessed during the first week of December)," the company said in a notification.
"The operation is back to normal with effect from today," it said.

* Mobileapp firm FirstHandle today said it has tied up with Oxigen Wallet and taxi hailing app Ola to link their services with its platform.
Under the pact, FirstHandle app users will be able to make bill payments, mobile recharge and DTH using a scheme of loyalty points earned from its platform.
"Loyalty points can be earned by participating in simple events such as writing a review, rating an offer, availing the offer, updating your profile and marking any merchant as a favourite.
"All these points will be redeemable to cash directly into Oxigen wallet, if you are a FirstHandle user," FirstHandle CEO Gaurav Sinha said in a statement.
Under the partnership with Ola, FirstHandle will offer its customer a luxury ride to reach stores.

Vivo ropes in Ranveer Singh as Brand Ambassador * Mobile handset company Vivo today said it has roped in Ranveer Singh as its brand ambassador.
"We are truly delighted to have Ranveer Singh as the face of Vivo in India. Ranveer enjoys a huge fan following amongst the young Indian audience and Vivo being the brand for the youth," Vivo India CEO Alex Feng said in a statement.
Singh will feature in the brand's new TV commercial starting this month.
The company also launched two 4G smartphones, Vivo V3 and V3 Max, for Rs 17,980 and Rs 23,980, respectively. Vivo V3 Max comes with 5.5 full high definition display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 Octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, 13 megapixel rear camera, 8 MP front camera and 3,000 mAh battery.
