Assam govt approves recruitment of police personnel

The Assam Government has approved the recruitment of over 8,100 constables and equivalent ranks in the Assam Police, an official press release said here today.

The approval was given recently through a State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) headed by an Additional Director general of police (ADGP) and other senior police officers as members, the release said.

Assam Police is expected to complete the process within six months commencing with the publication of the advertisement to the date of publication of results, it said.

The government hopes that expeditious completion of the recruitment process will mitigate the long felt gap of manpower in Assam Police, it added.
