Baby elephant found dead

A baby elephant was found dead in Jhalda block of Purulia district today, Forest Department sources said.

The baby elephant around two-and-a-half-years-old was found dead in a paddy field at Kiribera village, they said.

The cause of the death would be known only after the postmortem, they added.
