Bangladesh is keen on expansion of coastal transportation with India and also in revival of Silk Route for enhancing trade, its envoy today said.
"Bangladesh is keen on expansion of coastal transportation and trade between India and Bangladesh covering various states of India", Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Tariq A Karim was quoted as saying by a Raj Bhavan release, after calling on Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah.
Accompanied by Minister (Commerce) of Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi Mohammed Habibur Rahman Khan, Karim said "they (Bangladesh) are for revival of Silk Route, enhancement of trade and for developing a strategic partnership in energy sector, airways and sea transport (between the two countries)".
The High Commissioner said Bangladesh was interested in exploring new ventures and in signing Memorandum of Understandings between the two countries in sectors like power, tourism, medical and in opening of business in India and in Tamil Nadu.
