Rajasthan government today declared Barmer and Jaisalmer districts as "scarcity hit" in view of scanty rainfall and poor Kharif crop output, an official said. said.
In a notification issued by the state government these two districts would be treated as scarcity hit from October 19, 2014 to July 31, 2015, the official of state Calamity and Relief Department said.
A potable water review committee would be constituted under collectors in every sub-divisions.
Subsidised fodder would be made available to cattle at "fodder depots" during the scarcity hit period and transportation fee on fodder movement would be paid by the state government as subsidy to breeders.
