The West Bengal government will come up with a new law to curb land grabbing of tribals, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said today.
The proposed law will protect the interests of the tribes in the state, she said in the state Assembly.
Banerjee added that it will not allow any type of illegal transactions or handing over of lands owned by the tribes.
A senior state government official said a draft of the law is being framed.
