The BHA secretary Salil Basu passed away this morning due to cardio-respiratory failure, BHA stated in a release. Basu, 70, is survived by his wife and daughter.
Basu played for Punjab Sports Club and Wari AC before getting associated with BHA in the 1970s. Known as "Gora-da", Basu was an upright person with a non-compromising attitude and believed in a good system and goverance.
"BHA lost a gentleman, a good administrator, a lover of the game and more importantly an honest soul," BHA stated in a condolence message.
