Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre today complemented the National Institute of Defence Estates Management (NIDEM) for carrying out an extensive survey of the entire defence land.
He also asked NIDEM to ensure speedy digitisation of valuable land records through latest techniques.
Bhamre was speaking after inaugurating a new building of NIDEM here.
He said the new facility will also help the organisation in imparting training to the new recruits as well as updating the serving officers about modern technologies in management of defence land and administration of cantonments.
"The organisation has done well in the ambitious projects of survey of entire defence land," he said.
He advised that issues like renewals of leases, mutation of properties in cantonments and processing of acquisition proposals should be worked out within prescribed time limits.
