Bihar Assembly adjourned till Tuesday after paying respect to

The first day of the winter session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly ended Monday after legislators condoled death of some of its former members.

Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary adjourned the House till 11 A.M. Tuesday after a brief sitting during which members paid condolences to various leaders including its former members.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi joined members in paying respect to the leaders who passed away since last session including, Bhism Narayan Singh, Hira Lal Paswan, Ram Roop Rai, Ramdeo Bhandari, Rajendra Prasad Yadav,Faiyaz Bhagalpuri, Ajizul Haque, Bhola Singh (who was Lok Sabha member from Begusarai), Abdul Jalil, Kamalnath Singh Thakur and Jageshwar Hajra.

 

Later, the Speaker said he would convey sentiment of the House to the families of all the departed souls.

But, before the house proceedings ended, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who also holds the finance portfolio, tabled the second supplementary budget of Rs 10,463.18 crore for the year 2017-18 in both the houses.

Giving break up in the second supplementary budget, Modi said that Rs 7601.27 crore would be spent on annual scheme while Rs 2767.78 crore has been earmarked for establishment and committed expenditure and Rs 94.12 crore has been allocated for central sector scheme.

Earlier, Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary announced in the House that "Question Reply Management System" has been strengthened from the winter session, which would end on November 30, for availing online information about question and answer.

As per the system, an arrangement has been made to provide online answers to the questions asked by the members through assembly secretariat, Choudhary said adding that 117 questions- short notice question and starred question- from 22 members have been received through online information system in the current session.

The assembly secretariat is also taking steps to implement "National e-Vidhan application" to promote further the computerisation process in order to reduce the usage of paper work, the Speaker said.
