Bihar to prepare master plan for all 8392 panchayats by Dec

The Bihar government has decided to prepare master plan for each of 8392 gram panchayats for better delivery of schemes, state Rural Development minister Nitish Mishra said today.

The master plan would be prepared by December this year in consultation with people of the panchayat, Mishra said addressing a workshop here.

The two-day workshop is based on the theme of Intensive participative planning exercise under the scheme "my village our development".

As a pilot project a master plan has already been prepared for Gonaha block in West Champaran district.

The minister said the master plan would plan better implementation of MGNREGA and projects of different departments with the help of peoples representatives.
 

He said that peoples participation in implementation of government schemes would be encouraged by organising gram sabha through out the state on October 2.

Block Development Officer (BDO) from across the state participated in the workshop.

Addressing the workshop, Secretary Department of Rural Development S M Raju said that the idea of having master plan for every panchayat was conceived by former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
