The BJP today released a draft manifesto for the April 18 election to the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

"We are releasing a draft manifesto today. We have uploaded it on our website for suggestions from common people for a final manifesto. This process will continue for two to three days," BJP state president Rahul Sinha said.

All political parties, including the ruling Trinamool Congress, the Left Front and the Congress, have come out with their respective manifestos.

A section of BJP leaders, who did not wish to be named, said the dealy was due to infighting in the BJP over leadership issues and ticket distribution.

Street fights had broken out outside the BJP state and district headquarters in the last week of March, mainly over ticket distribution.

The BJP in its draft manifesto has promised better filtered water supply system, better drainage system and other civic amenities.

"Kolkata has lost its historic pride and heritage because of the apathy of the previous KMC boards and state government. We want to restore the lost heritage of the city," Sinha said.

The KMC elections are scheduled to be held on April 18 and the elections to other 93 municipalities will be held on April 25. The results will be announced on April 28.
