Himachal Pradesh Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharmauri and Chief Parliamentary Secretary I D Lakhanpal today said the allegations of BJP leaders that the state government was unleashing vendetta on Anurag Thakur, MP and BJYM president, were unfounded.

"It seems the wrongs committed by the BJP leaders are haunting them and they are resorting to malicious campaign against the state government," Bharmauri and Lakhanpal said in a joint statement here.

There was no question of vendetta and the allegations were totally unfounded, they said.

"People are aware the previous BJP government, led by Prem Kumar Dhumal, had thrown all norms and regulations to winds to promote Anurag by facilitating the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) and heaping benefits on it.

"Anurag Thakur has betrayed the trust of the people by not maintaining transparency in the functioning of HPCA," the statement said.

"The HPCA is perhaps the only cricket association in India which is running a five-star hotel and it seems Dhumal has used the state BJP and the HPCA to politically establish his son," they said.
