BJP will lead change in Tamil Nadu, sans AIADMK, DMK: Pon Radhakrishnan

Radhakrishnan further said steps were deliberated to strengthen the party apparatus across the southern states

Press Trust of India Chennai
People of Tamil Nadu desire a political change sans the ruling AIADMK and DMK and such a transformation would be led by the BJP, Minister of State for Shipping, Pon Radhakrishnan said today.

"People of Tamil Nadu are desiring a change... A political change sans the AIADMK and DMK and such a transformation will be led by BJP," he told reporters at the airport here.

On his party meet yesterday at Bengaluru, he said steps were deliberated to strengthen the party apparatus across the southern states.

To another query, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign trips were intended to foster growth.

"Opposition criticism (against Modi on his foreign trips) is condemnable. He is not going out on any vacation. His foreign visits are for the sake of nation's growth."

Radhakrishnan arrived here from Bengaluru today after participating in a party meet.

BJP president Amit Shah had yesterday met the party's core group leaders of southern states and discussed preparations for next year's Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
