A blast occurred in a cracker factory located on the outskirts of the city today, police said.
The impact of the blast was so powerful that debris of the factory fell 500 metres around it while damaging its roofs and walls, police said.
There was no causality reported so far, but it would be clear in the morning when the debris is removed.
Police said that as per the labourers working in the factory, initially there were minor flames inside, which created a panic and all labourers were asked to vacate the premises.
When all the workers had come out and were waiting for the fire personnel, a powerful blast occurred.
Police said that around six fire fighter engines were pressed into service to douse the flames.
